On Oct. 10, PragerU produced a video of a young Black woman proudly declaring her loathing for all White people. When asked by her young Male interviewer if she felt comfortable judging others not on their moral status but rather on the colour of their skin, she answered in the affirmative. She is a Racist and proud of it! You may be tempted to conclude she is some sort of extremist, but a recent poll indicated that 47 percent of America’s Blacks share her viewpoint. As Dennis Prager subsequently stated, there are millions of White people on the planet with whom he has nothing in common. Judging people on the basis of their Skin Colour is ludicrously superficial! Bizarrely, however, the tendency to do so has been promoted in many Western academic institutions by those who consider themselves “intellectuals.” How, you may wonder, has this happened?
Critical Race Theory is the fancy name given by the contemporary Left for a vision of History rooted in Post-Modern Relativism, the ludicrous notion that all Cultural Values are of equal merit, that no one civilization is in any way more evolved than another. It is a perspective which literally removes Human Intelligence as a consideration in assessing the achievements of any given people. While Sir John A. MacDonald took it to be obvious that the civilization of which he was a product was infinitely more evolved than that of Canada’s Indigenous, he is now considered a racist for his frequent use of the term “savages.” But was he a racist or simply a Rational Human Being?
While I hardly have room here to validate this fact, a multitude of academics and commentators have expressed their approval of Critical Race Theory. Coincidentally, Juno News here in Canada published pieces both yesterday and today exposing the efforts of educators in this country to utterly transform the standards of contemporary academia. In its Oct. 14 post, it was reported that Ontario’s Elementary Teachers Federation was intent on “decolonizing” the minds of its teachers, on purging them of the notion that White Western Civilization was in any way superior to that of any other. Among the concepts deemed to be mere White Biases were that of the Family as a Rational Social Construct, as well as the notion of Objectivity as the basis of all civilized discourse. Yes, demanding that one’s views be consistent with the objectively verifiable facts is now deemed an expression of White Supremacy! While no one is suggesting those facts to always be self-evident, their nullification leaves us with a world in which every self-indulgent Individual and/or Identity Group feels entitled to define Reality as suits them best, no matter the absurdity of their views. Hence the end of civilized discourse! Hence the “compassionate” Left’s constant, pathetic denunciation of rational “conservative” viewpoints as “hate speech.” Hence a world in which our “intellectuals” are perfectly comfortable in allowing 200 lb. individuals with penises to compete in Women’s sports!
What is absolutely essential to this discussion is the fact that Critical Race Theory is not some demented perversion of the ideas of the contemporary Left, but rather central to its D.E.I. Ideology. At the same time, the Left’s never-ending attempts to discredit “conservatism” by citing the antics of various racists, misogynists, etc., are utterly without merit in that none of the dozens of “conservative” pundits I admire support them in any way whatsoever.
Conservatism, as an extension of the European Enlightenment, aspires to be Rational. Progressivism, having basically denounced Reason as a White, Western affectation, is, not surprisingly, ludicrously Irrational!
