In a May 12 interview with Stanley Staley of The Hub, Simon Wolle of B’nai Brith Canada lamented the radical rise of anti-Semitic violence in the country over the last few years. Since 2022, he asserts, there has been a 145% increase in such incidents, led by the 6800 that occurred in 2025. B’nai Brith has apparently been monitoring these statistics since the 80s.
Taryn Thomas, the subject of my last blog, attested to the prevalence of pro-Palestinian empathy among her university friends. This is hardly surprising given the Leftist bias of most Canadian “academics.” But why, you might ask, would “intellectuals” who would skewer any conservative showing the slightest hint of anti-Semitism, side with the Palestinians in this present conflict. The answer from the Left, of course, is that their loyalties are rooted not in anti-Semitism but in empathy for the innocent Palestinians presently dying through no fault of their own. Yes, innocent people are dying and it is only human to weep for them. Yet the villains of this scenario are not the Israelis but the members of Hamas, a Jew-Hating, Islamist group which places its military installations in densely populated areas in the hopes that it will deter its enemies from attacking them there. Hamas is willing to sacrifice its own people to insure its survival! This leaves the Jews with the options of suspending their bombings for fear of inciting world-wide approbation, or continuing on in their effort to assure that abominations such as that of Oct. 7, 2023, never happen again. That Netanyahu has chosen the latter, makes perfect sense to me.
In pointing out the seeming “normalization of hate” in contemporary Canada, Mr. Wolle validates the very theme of these blogs. The young, angry, pro-Palestinians cited by Taryn Thomas were clearly the result of “progressive” academics who, while lamenting the plight of the Arab innocents being killed by Israeli bombs, had not shed light on the historical facts which led to this conflict, indeed had not exposed the utter moral degeneracy of groups such as Hamas. This sentiment-induced indifference to verifiable facts and the very notion of human integrity, pervades the Left throughout the Western World. This is not the statement of some radical right-winger, but a simple fact.
In all conflicts between those who have achieved and those who have not, the Left almost invariably sides with the latter. Its neo-Marxist Ethos demands it. This tendency to dismiss Achievement as but a form of Oppression leads quite naturally to its disdain for the Israelis who have in fact established the only truly Civilized Nation in the Middle East! As I have said in previous blogs, Jews seem to have been blessed by Nature with intellects generally superior to those of other peoples [i.e., Freud, Einstein, etc.]. I could cite a multitude of other Jews who have blessed our Culture with the benefits of their intelligence and creativity. Absurdly, this fact makes them eminently susceptible to the derision of the Left, whose devotion to “inclusiveness” is based upon the idiotic assumption that we are all basically the same. Yes, Leftist “compassion” has today become a significant promoter of Anti-Semitism!
