As reported by The Blaze on June 11, subsequent to the conviction of Karmelo Anthony, suspended Texas Judge Thelma Anderson appeared on Roland Martin’s podcast wherein she expressed her outrage as a Black American. Anthony’s family, she said, was the victim of this fiasco, the court house in which their son was found guilty being a “slaughter house” in which he was “legally lynched.” Invoking one of the most hackneyed phrases of the contemporary Left, she smugly insisted the verdict was but another example of “white supremacy” gone wild!
Was not her use of the term “lynched” designed to incite violence amongst the Back community? Are not the Metcalfs, who lost their 17 year old son for no apparent reason, the real victims of this affair? Was the guilty verdict of the Texas court rooted in White Supremacy or in simple common sense? Why, one wonders, was Karmelo Anthony armed with a knife?
Thelma Anderson’s rant, it seems to me, was Racist to its very core. Her denial of the facts of the case was typical of the Left’s tendency to simply ignore Objective Reality when it does not serve its agenda. I must admit that when she dismissed the Metcalf family as the real victims of the event in question, I thought she might actually be insane. Sadly, as a result of the rhetoric employed by people such as she, the Metcalf family is now being inundated with death threats. Such is the insanity of our contemporary culture, one rooted in the simplistic principles of Identity Politics, a ludicrous perspective from which those who enforce the Rule of Law focus more on the Color of one’s Skin than the actual Morality of one’s behavior!
