Adaobi of Nigeria

On Aug. 14, 2020, Larry Elder interviewed a young Nigerian woman whose odyssey was really quite inspiring. Adaobi explained that she had left her homeland to be educated in the U.S., beginning that process in N.Y. where she spent two and a half years before going to Texas to complete her education.

Her schooling, she says, was a relentless process of indoctrination leading her to a radical Feminist disdain for the Patriarchy, a Neo-Marxist loathing for Capitalism and the conviction that the U.S. was pervasively, profoundly Racist.

As she left for Texas she was warned by her northern friends of the ignorance and intolerance she would no doubt encounter there. Yet in what would seem to have been the first step in her recovery from her indoctrination, she experienced no racism whatsoever in Texas, indeed was greeted with warmth and affection by most everyone she encountered.

When her parents welcomed her back to Nigeria, they were shocked to discover that their daughter had become a Leftist radical. They confiscated her passport and refused to let her return to the States. In the next couple of years, Adaobi told Larry, she discovered his podcast and those of several other Black “conservatives,” ultimately coming to reject the simplistic nonsense taught to her by her American “educators.”

A staunch “conservative” now, Adaobi is appalled that the educational system of a country founded upon a belief in the Principle of Free Speech, should have been hijacked by an authoritarian academic regime insistent on teaching one point of view to the exclusion of all others. And her experiences in Texas, she insists, highlighted the absolute superficiality of the stereotypes promoted by the Neo-Marxist Left, stereotypes which simply ignore the multitude of permutations to which Man, the Intelligent Animal, is prone.
