In a video posted this past Wed., former Black NFL superstar Herschel Walker proudly declared “I have finally Woke Up!” Having apparently been sympathetic to the cause of the protesters in America’s streets, he was only recently apprised of Patrisse Cullor’s 2015 interview in which she admitted that she and the other founding women of B.L.M. were in fact “trained Marxists.” The lives of Black people, Walker realized, were peripheral to the agenda of this group that is inherently “anti-government, anti-American, anti-Christian.”
His main concern, it would seem, is that the owners and players of the NFL should come to realize what they are supporting, should clarify for themselves whether their goal is justice for America’s Blacks or the complete dismantling of the country’s political/economic infrastructure. It is, of course, the question which everyone on the Left who has refused to denounce today’s widespread disrespect for the Rule of Law and the incendiary though simplistic myth of “systemic racism,” desperately needs to answer.
Of his recent awakening, Walker states: “I want to apologize to the American people because I was blind, but now I can see. I was deaf, but now I can hear.”
