Just re-watched Rand Paul’s Feb. 2021 interrogation of Miguel Cardona, Biden’s nominee for Secretary of Education. In the exchange, Paul presses Cardona to explain why individuals born Male who now identify as Female should be allowed to compete against Biological Females in high school and university athletics. Cardona’s response is classic “liberal” mumbo-jumbo, a mantra of vague generalizations about the inalienable civil rights of all American citizens. But, Paul insists, the present “woke” status quo is an obvious violation of female civil rights, unfairly costing thousands of women across the country university scholarships and ultimately the ability to earn a living!
What is missing from Cardona’s “logic” are the simple, demonstrable facts of Objective Reality, a realm, I must point out, distressing to most of a “woke” mentality. To the rational “conservative” mind, individuals born Male who now identify as Female must admit the truth of their condition, must accept that they have no right whatsoever to jeopardize the well-being of biological females. Whereas genuine intellectuals from Socrates to Jordan Peterson define self-awareness as absolutely essential to a moral mode of being, the mindless Left champions juvenile self-indulgence as a core value while conveniently, as Cardona does, ignoring the inevitably destructive consequences of such. I say this not out of any animosity for Transgenders, but out of simple, rational respect for the givens of Objective Reality.
