In August of this year, the Global Climate Intelligence Group issued a declaration signed by over 1600 climate experts which stated the following: There is no climate emergency…..Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific. Scientists should openly address uncertainties and exaggerations in their predictions of global warming.
As every discussion of “climate change” should begin with a frank admission that the earth’s climate has been fluctuating wildly throughout its history, the Group’s statement reaffirmed this inarguable fact. Moreover its assertion that contemporary debate on this subject has been infected with a decidedly unscientific bias, was validated just a week ago in an Edmonton Sun article by Mark Bonokoski which revealed facts likely unknown to 90% of the Canadian population.
Canada, apparently, has 990 million acres of forests which absorb about 2.574 billion tons of carbon per year. That is 4 times what we produce through the incineration of fossil fuels. These figures, Bonokoski says, don’t even include what is absorbed by our vast wetlands and farmlands. So while the Chinese dictatorship, much admired by our Prime Minister, produces 27% of the earth’s carbon emissions and is expected to reach carbon neutrality only by 2060, Canada would already seem to be carbon negative. Why then, Bonokoski asks, are Liberal governments, both federal and provincial, so intent on imposing debilitating restrictions on both the Energy and Farming sectors while raising the cost of living of every citizen in the country with their carbon taxes? Are there any tangible, pragmatic benefits to such policies or are they simply the product of an irrational, pseudo-scientific form of religious mania? The mainstream media, of course, rather than citing such facts and posing such questions, dismisses them as just so much Right Wing disinformation.
While that same media is only too eager to highlight examples of right wing fanaticism which it duplicitously identifies with Rational Conservatism, it scrupulously avoids any mention of the multitude of criminal acts incited by the religious mania of the Left. Wildfires in Canada have statistically been declining since 1990, yet this past summer was truly horrific. But while the weather was no doubt responsible for many of the conflagrations, did you know an Alberta woman was arrested for intentionally setting 32 fires while a male in the same province was charged with 10 similar counts of arson? Pressed to admit that global warming was in fact the most serious threat confronting the species, Conservative Premier Danielle Smith asserted that arson seemed to be the cause of approximately 175 fires in her province while many others were simply the product of human carelessness. Authorities in other provinces also reported fires of no seeming natural cause. Yet the mainstream media, rather than acknowledging such facts, rather than expressing outrage at climate fanatics convinced they were doing the world a favor by intentionally setting forest fires, simply kept to its hyperbolic litany, denouncing the hellish, broiling, deadly temperatures of this past summer.
John Christy is a climatologist from the U. of Alabama. Over the last 10 years, he says, the U.S. has produced merely an average number of days of excessive temperatures, the 1930s continuing to hold the record for the most days in which the thermometer climbed to over 100 degrees. At the same time he insists readings taken within the concrete ovens of the country’s urban centers are in no way an accurate reflection of the planet’s climate status. The more accurate readings afforded by satellites, he admits, do show this past July to have been the hottest month on record in almost half a century, but only by one quarter of a degree Fahrenheit. Does this seem to you indicative of an impending global disaster? Have the facts imparted by Bonokoski been discussed impartially by the mainstream media here in Canada? If not, is that media not at least partially responsible for inciting those lunatics convinced they are doing the species a service by setting forest fires? Are the 1600 who signed the declaration cited in my opening paragraph all, as is customarily claimed by the Left and its media whores, merely pawns being manipulated by Big Oil, or is it in fact the Left and its many sycophants who have so succumbed to a brazenly irrational perspective, that they have lost touch with Reality itself, indeed have come to see Reason as just another White, Western eccentricity?
Highly descriptive post, I liked that bit. Will there be a part 2?
