Is it Stupidity or Hypocrisy? I Really don’t Know.

As reported by Sarah Arnold in an Oct. 29 article on Townhall’s website, ABC, NBC and CBS, which devoted approximately 9 hours of coverage to the Hamas assault on Israel between Oct. 7 and 22, spent not 1 second informing their viewers of the pro-Hamas sentiments of several Democratic members of the House of Representatives, including such Leftist darlings as Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, etc., etc..

The Right is constantly accused of concocting conspiracy theories, but much of the mainstream media, while pretending to give an unbiased version of the news, is in fact engaged in a never ending effort to flog the Leftist world-view which it, in its incredible arrogance, has decided is unequivocally valid. This, I would suggest, is a conspiratorial effort of the very first magnitude. While outright lies and the flagrantly different nature and tone of questions posed to those on either side of the political aisle are a daily feature of the mainstream media, it quite often pushes its agenda by simply failing to mention news items unfavorable to those it supports. In contemporary America, of course, this means drawing very little if any attention to issues that might harm Joe Biden and the Democratic Party.

Hence the refusal of major networks to say much of anything about the pro- Hamas sentiments of the aforementioned Democratic ladies whose views may very well be infected with racism. Hence their muted response to the Hunter Biden scandal as the 2020 presidential election approached. Hence the rarity of their references to the criminal past of Leftist American hero George Floyd. Hence their flip dismissal of the various published documents signed by hundreds of scientists convinced there is no impending global warming calamity.

One could go on and on. Of course when “conservative” commentators and networks such as Rebel News here in Canada take to the airwaves to counter the brazen “liberal” bias of the mainstream media, it is they who are denounced as purveyors of misinformation and fabricators of conspiracy theories. What is truly sad about this situation is that those who make these accusations seem utterly unaware of the fact that what they so fervently believe, is rooted in Ideological Bias rather than an Objective appreciation of the Truth. The fact that one of the informing ideas of their world-view is the notion that there is no such thing as Objective Truth, is an Irony apparently lost on “progressives.” This therefore raises the possibility that their “moral” certainty may be less a matter of Hypocrisy than of sheer Ignorance. I shall explain myself in my next blog.
