Environmental Fanaticism.

In a video posted 2 years ago and watched by over 3 million people, Roman Balmakov of “Facts Matter” exposed the many predictions made by so-called Climate Experts which have proven to be absolutely inaccurate. His survey was entitled “Inconvenient Truth: 32 Climate Predictions Proven False.”

While I shall not burden you with references to every one of those predictions, Balmakov begins by citing several articles printed in the 70s in such mainstream publications as The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and Time Magazine, each of which invoked the research of climate scientists who were quite certain that the world stood on the brink of a new Ice Age which might very well devastate the species. In 1971, for example, The Washington Post asserted that pollutants compromising the effects of the Sun would most definitely produce that tragic effect within 50 years [i.e., by 2021]. Obviously it was wrong!

By the late 70s, however, the narrative shifted radically. In 1982, The N.Y. Times predicted that by the year 2000, Global Warming would have calamitous effects on the species. Implying the death of millions, the word “holocaust” was used. In 1989, The San Jose Mercury News predicted that if the warming trend was not reversed, entire nations would soon be under water due to the melting of the polar ice caps. In 2018, Forbes Magazine cited a Harvard climate specialist who said that the chance there would be any Arctic Ice left at all after 2022 was “essentially zero.” Gross Inaccuracies spewed with Absolute Certainty!

As I have pointed out in previous blogs, it is archeologically verifiable that the world’s temperature has been fluctuating wildly throughout its history. At the same time Man is responsible for only a small percentage of the globe’s greenhouse gases. I am not suggesting there is no validity whatsoever to the concerns of today’s environmental fanatics, but simply that their own errors in the past imply a need for some degree of humility in the contemporary climate debate. But of course that’s not the way the Left operates. Balmakov’s citation of 32 erroneous climate predictions is just another example of right-wing Denialism. There is no room for discussion here. Indeed on most every issue, there is no room for discussion with today’s liberals who are indeed but Fascists dressed up in liberal garb!

The planet’s supply of fossil fuels will be exhausted within the next 30 to 40 years. Pragmatism demands we continue to exploit those resources while investigating new ways to satisfy our energy needs. Here in Canada, political efforts to stifle the building of pipelines, and policies such as B.C.’s banning of oil tankers from its northern coast, do little more than weaken our economy while putting thousands out of work. The point of this blog, therefore, is whether we ought to bow before the fanaticism of an “intellectual” sector that has been wrong over and over again in its prognostications of Climate Disaster, or deal with the issues before us in the most Rational [i.e. conservative] manner possible? To anyone willing to grant the facts of Objective Reality [i.e., that the world’s temperature has been fluctuating throughout all of History], the answer would seem to be obvious. But sadly, the Self-Righteous Left is not particularly interested in Rational debate. Such is the dilemma facing today’s Conservatives throughout the Western World!
