Suggest that a 200 lb. individual with a penis should not be allowed to compete in Women’s sports, and you will be denounced as a Trans Hater by the self-righteous Left. Suggest that DEI mandates are implicitly Unjust in that they reward people based on their Identity rather than their Merits, and you will be similarly reviled. Are there Racists, Homophobes, etc. who use Conservatism to justify their biases? Of course there are. But mainstream Conservatism is absolutely rooted in Reason rather than hatred. Ironically, however, the Left, unable to repudiate its opponents with Reason, engages in hate speech on a regular basis! It was to such speech that many Republicans attributed the Sept. assassination of Charlie Kirk.
A few days after Kirk’s murder, Texas Democrat Jasmine Crocket went on The Breakfast Club radio show to repudiate the notion that Leftist Rhetoric implicitly inspires Violence against political opponents. She said in fact: “I challenge someone to go and find a clip of a Democrat invoking violence.” Calling Trump “a wannabe Hitler,” she asserted, was no such provocation.
On Dec. 11 The Blaze reported that Republicans had released a piece citing 20 statements by Democrats which clearly implied a need to go well beyond mere rational debate in defeating their opponents. N.Y. Democrat Hakeem Jeffries, for example, said of Trump’s conservative agenda: “We are going to fight it legislatively, we are going to fight it in the courts, and we’re going to fight it in the streets.” In the streets! Hmm, what might that mean?
And what of Calif. Governor Gavin Newsome’s statement last August that “we’re fighting fire with fire, and we’re going to punch these sons of bitches in the mouth”? Obviously I am not going to cite all 20 of the quotes in question, but ironically Jasmine Crocket has herself said such things as the following in response to the 2024 defeat by Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas Democrat Colin Allred: “I mean, like, this dude [Cruz] has to be knocked over the head, like, hard, right. Like, there is no niceties with him, like, at all. Like, you go clean off on him.”
As I have said repeatedly, one can always find statements by those purporting to be conservatives which are racist, misogynist, etc.. But they in no way represent Mainstream Conservatism. But Hatred is in fact an inherent aspect of Contemporary “liberalism”! An Ideology rooted in Sentiment rather than a basic respect for Reason, Intelligence, Merit, etc., has no other option but to denounce its opponents by simply calling them names! Hence, for example, the never ending repetition of the lie that Western Civilization came to dominate the world not because it was significantly more evolved than most other civilizations, but because White, Western Europeans were simply a bunch of greedy, oppressive bastards! Such is the parody of Logic that defines the contemporary Left. It is pathetic!
