In an interview of Oct. 15, 2020, Joe Biden railed against Trump’s use of Executive Orders as a tyrannical means of circumventing the processes of Democracy. Yet on the first day of his administration, he issued 17 of the very same to utterly change the face of America.
How do you reason with someone, indeed an entire Political Party, sanctimoniously convinced that it is entitled to engage in behavior it finds utterly despicable in others? How do you reason with those whose hypocrisy has in fact slipped into the realm of dementia?
I have made multiple references to Orwell’s “1984,” a book devoted to exposing the dangers of “right-wing” Fascism. Yet it is in fact the Left that seems inclined to the very abominations Orwell so despised, American Democrats experts in the art of “double-speak,” passing themselves off as “liberals” while, as a multitude of comments from politicians, media simpletons and the brilliant denizens of Hollywood indicate, being perfectly comfortable with the establishment of a totalitarian “Thought Police” to censure all who do not see the world as they have decided we ought to see it.
