In Fascist Canada, having conservative views is Illegal!

As he discussed with Glenn Beck on June 24, Ezra Levant of Canada’s Rebel News Network is presently under investigation by the Toronto police for launching a “billboard truck” in the city showing videos of various pro-Hamas demonstrations, including an illegal encampment at the U. of Toronto. The truck’s defining headline reads: “Wake up Canada. You are under siege.” Upon learning on June 19 that the city’s police chief had issued a statement regarding complaints of a vehicle spreading Islamophobic hatred throughout the city, Ezra, confident that his truck was heralding nothing but the truth, drove it to the central police station and asked to speak to the chief of police. Myron Demkiw, the man in question, refused to see him. Rebel News, from which I have heard nothing but rational, conservative commentary, is deemed by the mainstream to be fanatically right-wing. Hence, on the basis of complaints by those who may in fact be anti-semitic, it is under investigation for spreading hate, while mobs calling for the eradication of Israel have thus far been allowed to continue with no significant legal repercussions.

In a related story, Tommy Robinson, invited to Canada by Ezra to speak on the topic of Islamic fanaticism, was arrested a few of days ago after an appearance in Calgary. Interviewed upon his release from custody, he told Levant he had been charged with some immigration offence he really didn’t understand, and had had his passport confiscated. Scheduled to speak in Toronto in what was to be the climax of his visit, he will be unable to honor that commitment due to restrictions put on his mobility. The cops who had arrested him, he said, were extremely polite and did not seem to know the nature of his offence. To “conservatives” such as myself, however, he was clearly being persecuted for holding the wrong political views, a fascistic strategy that has become so commonplace these days that members of the brain-dead public actually see it as integral to the preservation of our “democracies.”
