On Dec. 25 Not the Bee posted a video of MSNBC’s Paola Ramos conducting an interview with a young White Male in which she insists there are no Genetic Differences between the Races. Astounded, he points out that Skin Color is clearly determined by one’s genes and that her statement is utterly absurd. Yet she insists over and over again that there is no Scientific Basis for the notion of Biological Diversity within the Species!
Quite aside from the color of their skin, Races are clearly prone to certain physical characteristics more common amongst their own kind than those of other ethnicities. How many 6 foot 8 Orientals are presently playing in the NBA? But if physical characteristics such as height tend to distinguish some races from others, is it not perfectly logical that Man’s Mental Faculties may also vary from race to race? A highly controversial 1994 book entitled “The Bell Curve” contended that Genes have a great deal to do with Human Intelligence and that certain peoples are clearly, statistically, prone to be smarter than others. As the book’s 2 authors were Jewish, it was considered outrageous that they concluded Jews to be amongst the most intellectually evolved peoples on the planet. As I have pointed out in previous blogs, it is remarkable that this relatively small demographic produced 3 of the most influential intellectuals [Marx, Freud and Einstein] of the last 150 years. At the same time it is no exaggeration to say that 90% of the most brilliant movies and T.V. shows I admire were written, directed or produced by Jews. Anti-Semitism, it seems to me, is clearly rooted in Envy. But then again, isn’t Envy one of the primary emotions stoked by the Left’s narrative? [And yes, I get the irony of the fact that Marx is primarily responsible for that narrative.]
Investigate “The Bell Curve” online and you will find multiple articles denouncing its basic hypothesis. Genes, we are told, have little to do with human outcomes. It is External Factors that have determined the fates of the planet’s various peoples. Such is the superficiality of the Leftist narrative which eliminates the Inner Life of Man from consideration. But at the same time it is grossly superficial to judge any Individual on the basis of their Race inasmuch as the Diversity evident throughout the species is marked by an equal degree of Diversity within each and every people.
Paola Ramos’ assertion that Genes have had little to do with the Human Dynamic is absurd. Of course it is in deference to Inclusiveness that she makes that assertion. Assuming all peoples to be indistinguishable, the Left feels justified in establishing DEI mandates designed to assure that both Genders and all Races achieve equally in every human domain. But this arbitrary definition of “social justice” is inherently unjust inasmuch as the true Diversity of the species does not lend itself to simplistic equations. Each and every individual must be judged on their own merits. Indeed Classical Liberalism was founded upon the very Principle of the Rights of the Individual. That this is so makes today’s Conservatives the true Liberals, while the Identity Politics of those on Left makes them categorically Illiberal!
