Pamela Geller has just reported that Nicholas Rovinski, fanatical convert to Islam convicted of conspiring with two others to behead her in 2015 because of her publication of a cartoon that violated Islamic law, has been ordered released by Judge William Young on the grounds that the young man’s compromised health might very well result in his death by Covid should he remain in prison. Originally sentenced to 15 years, he was released, according to Judge Young, for reasons of “compassion.”
I am reminded of the 2019 murder of two innocent Cambridge grads near the London Bridge by one Usman Khan who, having been convicted of conspiring to blow up England’s Parliament buildings in 2012, had been set free after having served only half of his sentence because, according to the Learning Together program devised by Cambridge Academics to rehabilitate Islamic Radicals, he no longer posed a threat to the public’s safety.
While there may be more now, I recall reading recently that there were over 500 convicted radicals released back into mainstream British society on the grounds they had been rehabilitated. Might the Brexit vote have reflected the justifiable concerns of Britain’s non-Islamic population?
The Left’s concept of Justice is truly insane. And hypocritical! Nothing better illustrates this than the actions of Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot who, having been sympathetic to the destructive antics of B.L.M. for months now, when feeling threatened in her own neighborhood, called in a sizable contingent of cops to defend her home while banning demonstrations of any kind on her block. Her sensitive “progressive” stand seems to be that while its okay for Anarchists to disrupt the lives of others, they better not fuck around with her.
The heartlessness and stupidity of Judge Young’s decision to release Rovinski is appalling. Would he have done the same were his wife and children the targets of Rovinski’s dementia? Of course not!!! I assume Ms. Geller to have taken on a body guard if she did not already have one, that in itself an intolerable burden. But even with such, how fraught with concern might be every waking moment of the balance of her seriously compromised life?
Canadian Conservative Kelly Leitch recently made an issue of checking new immigrants from hot spots of Islamic radicalism for their Canadian values. She was immediately denounced in the Star and Globe as a racist. Of course the chance that her sanctimonious “progressive” judges might ever be the victims of some terrorist act is incredibly remote. No doubt the residents of the Twin Towers felt equally secure in their cushy offices on the morning of Sept.11, a few years back! But the fact is Reality consistently exposes the naivete of those given to spouting pious platitudes from their Ivory Towers, those given to the specious conviction that all people are equally worthy of compassion, that all people are really, basically good.
Should Pamela Geller be assassinated as a result of Judge Young’s decision, I would support a motion to put him away for life. But then I’m a “conservative” given to the Principle that we ought to protect the innocent and punish the guilty, a principle apparently no longer revered here in the halcyon days of Progressive Dementia.
