While the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act recently got the assent of The House of Representatives, its passage by the Senate is hardly a certainty given that only 1 Democrat has expressed his support of the bill. Trump, outraged that Voter Integrity is not of primary importance to every politician, has threatened an Executive Order demanding Proof of Citizenship from every voter in the upcoming Mid-Term elections, should the Senate fail to validate the Act. The obvious question to anyone of common sense, of course, is why Democrats would not be fully in favor of Voter Integrity!
For 12 years one of the priorities of Thomas Fitton’s Judicial Watch has been the elimination of non-citizens from the voting ranks of the U.S.. In a Feb. 12 post, the agency claims to have eliminated approximately 5.8 million illegals from those lists through its various judicial inquiries. The most obvious means of abusing the system is “mail-in voting” which was of course given general approval in the 2020 election due to the impact of Covid. But while Trump acknowledges the right of absentee voting to those genuinely compromised by things such as debilitating illness, he maintains, as does Judicial Watch, that all others need to show up at the polls with valid proof of citizenship. While this would seem to be a matter of simple common sense, it has frequently been reviled by Leftists as an opinion devoid of empathy for the difficulties confronting the poor and people of color. The hypocrisy of their supposed empathy is that they fully expect the members of those demographics to vote for the Left. Indeed as illegal aliens will no doubt support the party that let millions of them them into the country during the Biden administration, many Democrats are not really committed to the maintenance of genuine voter integrity at all. Absurd, yet True!
As reported by Town Hall on Feb. 17, independent journalist Nick Shirley has sought to use “progressive” California as an example of the indifference to Voter Integrity of the Left. So lax is the State’s attention to the legitimacy of its voter lists, he says, that more than 200 people exceeding the age of 125 were recently discovered to be on those lists. In an attempt to prove that literally anyone could cast a vote in the state, a woman apparently registered her dog as a citizen and it was absurdly accepted as such. While I understand that Trump’s bullying manner of pursuing his agenda sometimes violates the spirit of the Democratic Process, those who denounce him as a dictatorial monster need to take a look in a mirror as their indifference to Voter Integrity, born of their obvious lust for Power, is truly disgusting!
Trump continues to maintain that the 2020 election was stolen from him. The mainstream media’s suppression of the Hunter Biden scandal, a reprehensible act born of political bias, would seem to validate that opinion. Widespread support for the right of millions to vote in absentia due to the Covid scourge seems to have been a product of the very same bias. Since the Cultural Revolution of the 60s, we in the West live in a world dominated by the self-righteous though sentimental convictions of the Neo-Marxist Left. This arrogant Swamp of irrational Ideologues is at least partially responsible for the anger with which Trump addresses his opponents. While I do not always condone his tactics, I do understand his outrage with the stupidity and hypocrisy of the Left which manifests itself on a daily basis in the Mainstream Media!
