Norwegian socialist Petter Eide has nominated B.L.M. for a Nobel Peace Prize. Over the 2020 summer it was responsible for more than 275 protests which were in fact riots to one degree or another resulting in at least 25 deaths, the injuring of thousands, widespread pillaging and over two billion dollars in property damage throughout the States. Obviously I need to get me a new dictionary. The definition of “peace” in the one I presently own is clearly a joke.
Another Norwegian socialist, Lars Haltbrekken, has also nominated American Stacey Abrams who, having been defeated in the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial race by her Republican opponent, has claimed ever since that she was a victim of voter fraud. I know I’m losing my mind as the years go by so I’ll have to ask someone younger and smarter why Republicans who claim the 2020 presidential election was stolen are being summarily denounced as hate-inciting Nazis, while Ms. Abrams is being honored as a “voting rights activist” and indeed has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Oh, by the way, the New Georgia Project founded by Abrams is presently under investigation for its contributions to voter fraud!
But what could rival the irony of Andrew Cuomo’s Nov. 2020 acceptance of an Emmy for his use of the media in comforting the citizens of N.Y. State as they dealt with the Covid pandemic. While humbly admitting his T.V. appearances weren’t that polished, he averred that they always contained only the “authentic truth.” But oh, dear me! It turns out the number of Covid patients placed in nursing homes early in the pandemic was 40% higher than he initially reported. And it turns out the number of elderly folks literally killed by his strategy was 12,743, more or less twice than originally claimed.
In a recently revealed video-call made by top Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa to fellow Democrats, she admits the team self-consciously lied so as to prevent Trump from gaining any traction from the callous stratagem pursued by her boss. Indeed on a number of occasions throughout his campaign Joe Biden enthusiastically celebrated the “wonderful” job Cuomo was doing in New York.
Oh, by the way, as of Feb. 12 the number of nursing home deaths cited above has been re-estimated at approximately 15000 and 14 N.Y. Democrats have actually called for Cuomo’s resignation!
When confronted with the lies he told, Cuomo angrily disavowed any responsibility for the repercussions of his policies, blaming the carnage all on Donald Trump. Indeed in 2020 he actually published a book celebrating his handling of the pandemic.
The powers that be in the entertainment industry, those geniuses who nominated Andrew Cuomo for an Emmy, would appear to have the same level of moral clarity, the same level of intellectual sophistication as those Norwegian socialists so enamored of B.L.M and Stacey Abrams. Sadly, it is the same level of moral clarity and intellectual sophistication manifest daily in the mainstream media of the contemporary West.
