Really? Must We Swallow this B.S. in Silence?

Eisa Nefertari Ulen is a journalist, author, and Professor of African literature at New York’s Hunter College. In a recent podcast Dinesh D’Souza expressed his reluctance to even comment on Will Smith’s notorious slap, yet said he felt compelled to do so by the absurdity of the spin put on that incident by Prof. Ulen in a recent T.V. interview.

Smith, she said, was clearly reacting to the 400 years of oppression Blacks have suffered at the hands of White Americans. At the same time he was no doubt under pressure from the Patriarchal mandate [no pun intended] that Men of courage ought to defend the honor of their Women. So what appeared to be an assault by a Black man with widely publicized marital issues on another Black man, was, in the eyes of Eisa Ulen, actually a perfect manifestation of the perfidy of White Western Civilization and, more specifically, of White Males, the demons of the contemporary Leftist Historical narrative.

D’Souza could not help but laugh at an “intellectual” willing to ignore the complex psychological issues which undoubtedly contributed to Smith’s assault on Chris Rock by simply explaining it in terms consistent with her own sense of oppression as a Black Woman. A Black man assaults another Black man and White men are apparently responsible! Her superficiality, he contends, is typical of the appalling superficiality of the Left which simply refuses to acknowledge the reality of each Individual as a Moral Being ultimately responsible for his/her own behavior..
