Rittenhouse: The Truth vs. Leftist Lies

In a wonderful article in the N.Y. Post of Nov. 17, Miranda Devine attempts to set the record straight on the facts of the Kyle Rittenhouse case. As her piece is readily available online, I shall offer only a few brief comments on its substance. The narrative that Kyle is a White Supremacist driven by his mother across state lines armed with an illegal AR-15 and the specific intention of assaulting if not killing members of B.L.M. is, Devine insists, a sheer fabrication. Her article is entitled “10 heinous lies about Kyle Rittenhouse debunked.”

While Rittenhouse lives in Illinois with his mother, his father and most of his friends live just a few miles away in Wisconsin where he can in fact be found most days. On Aug. 25, having worked in Kenosha, he joined a crew seeking to remove graffiti from an elementary school recently defaced by B.L.M. It was there he was invited, along with others, to help defend a car lot which had had approximately 100 vehicles torched by rioters on the previous evening. Given the obvious violence of his adversaries, he brought along a legally licensed gun as a matter of self-defense.

Among the lies exposed by Devine is the notion that Rittenhouse is a White Supremacist, a thorough exploration of his recorded history revealing only that he is a staunch supporter of law enforcement which he someday hopes to join. While he is ludicrously accused in some circles of killing Blacks, which he did not, it is also suggested that those assaulting him were unarmed and of no significant threat. But Antifa radical Gaige Grosskreutz, wounded in the encounter, did in fact have a loaded Glock which he pointed at Rittenhouse, while Joseph Rosenbaum, who had screamed he intended to kill him, was clearly trying to take his gun. That each of these individuals along with the skateboard wielding Anthony Huber had criminal records, indeed that Rosenbaum was a bi-polar culprit of multiple sexual offenses against minors, is never mentioned by those pushing the narrative that Kyle was exonerated simply because of the color of his skin.

Tulsi Gabbard, still cited as a Democrat though she radically disagrees with the world-view of most of her peers, is perfectly comfortable with the result of the Rittenhouse trial. Rather than denouncing him as a White Supremacist, she implies him to be somewhat of a hero, her indictment of those in charge of Kenosha being no more explicit than in the following statement: “The government absolutely failed to fulfill this most basic responsibility of keeping their community safe.”

For Tulsi, Kyle was not a villainous vigilante, an epithet repeated ad nauseam in the mainstream media, but a defender of the Rule of Law which, while it ought to be a fundamental pillar of every Civilized Society, has now, in the wonderfully “progressive” West, given way to the childish tantrums of ignorant, venom-spewing mobs!
