Socrates, The Victim of Cancel Culture 2400 Years Ago!

One of my favourite quotes attributed to the wonderful Socrates goes as follows: “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.” What he was basically describing was the modus operandi of the contemporary Left. Unable to refute the assertion that certain ethnic groups have outperformed others in most every way, the typical “liberal” demagogue simply dismisses this Objective Fact as a matter of racism. Unable to disprove that Women fail to be equally represented in every realm of the social/economic spectrum because they are significantly different from Men, this contention is deemed by the D.E.I. crowd to be the product of mere patriarchal arrogance. And of course should you suggest that a 200 lb. individual with a penis is Not a Woman, you are obviously “transphobic.”

Examples of the dire repercussions of holding such politically incorrect views in this “progressive” era, abound. Anti-Free Speech proposals are a regular feature of political life both here in North America and the European Union. Fail to abide by the Left’s Inclusive Ethos and you may find yourself banished from the internet, fired, or even imprisoned! Ironically, it was such Politically Correct Arrogance that led to the death of Socrates in 399 B.C. when the Athenians condemned him to death for disrespecting their gods and imperilling the morality of their children. Yes, the brilliant father of Western Philosophy and Moral Inquiry was forced to end his own life by the very same ignorance and arrogance typical of many on the contemporary Left. If you don’t agree with them, you are obviously Evil! Human Nature, apparently, hasn’t changed much in 2500 years!
