News Max recently attempted a telephone interview with Jake Lang, a Jan. 6 “insurrectionist” who, while claiming any violence of which he was guilty on that day was simply a matter of self-defense against an unduly aggressive Capitol Police force, has nevertheless been held in solitary confinement with no chance at bail for almost a year now. Approximately 40 others have been submitted to the same conditions! Unable to entertain visitors of any kind, they have even been denied remote communications with their loved ones. The political motivation behind their treatment is, Lang says, no more evident than in the fact that a good many of his jailers are wearing Tee Shirts declaring their loyalty to the Democratic Party. And oh, by the way, a few minutes into his interview the phone line would go dead as an unidentified voice declared it was not deemed appropriate that he should be allowed to communicate with the outside world!
I am not suggesting those who breached the Capitol ought not to be punished. But 40 individuals, none of whom fired a shot, none of whom did anything more than trespass, are being treated by the American “justice system” as dire threats to the very existence of America, while “progressive” D.A.s throughout the country are literally releasing hard core felons out into mainstream society with seemingly no concern for public safety whatsoever.
Phil Shiver of The Blaze reports that in Texas 113 individuals charged with murder have been released back into the streets pending their trials. In Harris County, he says, 150 people have been killed over the years by suspects granted bail by “liberal” District Attorneys. But those who broke windows and invaded the Capitol in an ill-advised attempt to show their disdain for a government in which they had lost all faith, they need to be kept in solitary confinement with no chance of bail whatsoever. The term “insurrection” is a gross exaggeration and the efforts of Biden’s “Justice Department” to silence those guilty of such is no less fascistic than the behavior of contemporary China’s Communist Party.
I have already discussed the utterly pointless May murder of 80 year old George Black by Stephanie Martinez who, in spite of a 10 year history of violent crimes including 2 recent arrests for the same, was out marauding the streets of Denver due to the “progressive” policies of that city’s D.A.s.
More recently [Sun., Aug 29] an individual was shot and killed in Minneapolis in an apparent act of road rage by one George Howard. The latter, having been convicted of domestic violence, had been released from prison in early Aug. when the Minneapolis Freedom Fund, a “progressive” initiative strongly supported by Kamala Harris, provided the $11,500 necessary for his bail.
People convicted of violent crimes and more specifically men who assault defenseless women ought to be kept behind bars until their rehabilitation is beyond a doubt. Society owes them nothing. Imagine the plight of an abused woman upon seeing her abuser granted the freedom to beat her once again! On March 29, 2021, his parole board was forced to release one Philip Toner, an Alberta man who had just served 5 years for raping a 15 year old but whose often violent prison behavior clearly suggested he ought to be kept in custody. Having refused to parole him on three separate occasions, the board was compelled by Law to do what they knew was a mistake. Six weeks later Toner killed his girlfriend Brenda Ware!
Those responsible here in North America for the “tolerant” “progressive” attitude toward “Law Enforcement” [George Soros among others] are in a very real way responsible for each of the crimes cited above and indeed tens of thousands more. But how hypocritical is Kamala who, while perfectly willing to provide bail for violent criminals apparently the victims of an unjust society, at the same time condones the incarceration and oppression of the Jan. 6 rioters for crassly political reasons. I am getting tired of using this word, but the double-standard informing the hypocrisy of the Left is truly disgusting.
