In Aug. of 2025, Binary Australia, a group devoted to celebrating the joys of Heterosexuality, was fined 95,000 Australian dollars for identifying 2 Trans Men active in Women’s athletic competitions. The group’s spokesperson, Kirralie Smith, responded as follows: “It is disappointing that the word ‘woman’ has been redefined to include males and that the words ‘violence’ and ‘vilification’ have been applied to speaking the truth about information in the public domain.”
Heather Corkhill of Equality Australia, a group concerned with the rights of “intersex” people, fully agreed with the levying of the fine, saying that the two athletes in question have been assailed by a good deal of online hate speech which very well might lead to violence. But was Binary Australia seeking to inspire Hatred and Violence in its declaration, or simply defending the right of Women to not have to compete against Biological Males in their various athletic endeavors? If it was indeed guilty as charged, is not the Left guilty of killing Charlie Kirk, of fomenting anti-Semitism, of justifying the 2 billion dollars in damages done by BLM in 2020, etc., etc.? Once again, the pervasive, hypocritical, double standard of the Left!
One need not, of course, have gone to Australia to find examples of this reality. On Jan. 20, a planned discussion of Canada’s Residential Schools at the University of British Columbia was disrupted by protesters not happy with the arguments proffered by those such as Dr. Frances Widdowson. Widdowson, an academic and published author, finds the narrative of Canada’s Residential Schools as genocidal in intent grossly simplistic, and argues that grave sites deemed to contain the bodies of victimized Indigenous children have in no way been validated as such. Bizarrely, as it seemed that those opposed to her views might actually resort to violence, it was Widdowson who was led away by the R.C.M.P. rather than the criminal jerks who were threatening her!
One more example of the ignorant disdain for Free Speech which has become a regular feature of “progressive” Western nations: As reported by Not the Bee on Jan. 15, a young girl in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, having received permission from her high school to post a message on its “spirit rock,” expressed her admiration for Charlie Kirk. Deemed a violation of the district board’s devotion to Inclusiveness, her tribute was almost immediately removed and her school issued the following statement: “Vandalism to school property. Law enforcement has been contacted and we are cooperating with the investigation.” No doubt embarrassed by the outrage of those who found its treatment of the young girl abominable, the school subsequently said there was no investigation and it had never accused her of anything. Her name has not as yet been made public so as to protect her from any further abuse due to her admiration for Charlie Kirk.
As I have said in previous blogs, I have conservative friends working in the public domain who dare not express their views on certain subjects for fear of losing their jobs. That this reign of terror has been imposed by those who consider themselves Liberals, is truly ridiculous!
