As Pamela Geller pointed out in a Dec. 4 posting, France has cancelled its iconic New Years Eve musical celebration on the Champs Elysees due to concerns for the safety of the citizens of Paris. Apparently, for some years now, Islamists have chosen the final day of the year to express their disdain for Western Civilization, burglarizing businesses, assaulting women, burning cars, etc.. On Dec. 31, 2017, for example, more than 1000 cars were torched by Muslim immigrants throughout the nation. As cited by Geller: “This is what happens when you import 3rd world migrants into a first world country.”
One of the things that led to England’s Brexit was its outrage over the increase in crime wrought by the Third World migrants allowed into the country by the European Union’s “compassionate” open border policy. Here in Canada “conservatives” are outraged not only that our police have been ordered to tolerate anti-Israeli demonstrations, but that the Palestinian flag was “empathetically” flown at Toronto’s city hall in mid-November. Israel shares our values, is a tolerant Democracy whose present war was clearly incited by the ignorant, racist determination of groups such as Hamas to utterly obliterate it. The innocent Palestinians who are dying are dying because of Hamas. A Canada committed to the Values upon which it was founded would never consider tolerating protesters bearing signs calling for the extinction of the Jewish State. The sad truth, however, is that the brain dead Left, in its devotion to Inclusiveness, disdains rational consideration of the Cultural Values of different peoples inasmuch as it exposes the absurdity of its notion that “we’re all really the same.” Yes, should one point out the obvious fact that the musings of Socrates and Aristotle 2500 years ago were actually more progressive than the convictions of contemporary, mainstream Islam, one will of course be dismissed as just another ignorant, White Supremacist. With equal absurdity, while any White Male exhibiting disdain for the Rights of Women will immediately and rightfully be denounced as a misogynist jerk, the “progressive” West has no problem admitting into its domain millions of Muslims whose religion views Women as little more than the possessions of Men! This would seem to be a paradox worth discussing!
There are apparently 80,000 Somali immigrants living in Minnesota. Feeding our Future, an agency founded in 2016 to satisfy the needs of the state’s impoverished, is dominated by those of Somali origin. The recent discovery that it has embezzled 1 billion dollars if not more from American taxpayers while performing few of its celebrated functions, has led Donald Trump to declare Somali immigrants in general to be “garbage.” Indeed he has declared that all migrants from Third World countries who entered the U.S. illegally need to be deported.
The Rational Conservatism defended here finds both the “open border” policies espoused by the European Union and Joe Biden, as well as the racial stereotypes promoted by Trump, to be utterly inane! The notion that all Somalis are “garbage” is but a version of the simplistic Identity Politics of the Left whereby all White Males are apparently misogynists! The answer to the immigration problems of Western Europe and North America lies in the simple application of Reason to the attributes of those seeking entry into our wonderfully evolved domains. Muslim fundamentalists who both demonize Homosexuals while marginalizing Women, need not apply. Those who hate Capitalism need not apply. I realize that assessing the values of those seeking entry to the wonders of the West is an extremely complicated if not futile process, yet the effort to do so clearly supersedes both the open border policies of Joe Biden and the European Union, while also transcending the racial stereotypes endorsed by Trump.
The trouble with the American President, of course, is that while his disdain for the “woke” agenda of the Left is in most cases perfectly justifiable, his goals and his manner of pursuing them frequently reek of the very extremism attributed by the Left to all those who voted for him. But I guarantee you that every one of the “conservative” pundits I admire, as well as their millions of followers, were appalled by his reference to America’s Somalis as “garbage.” The need for both Canada and the States to moderate their immigration policies is a matter of simple common sense. It is that Common Sense and not Racism that demands we both limit the numbers we allow within our borders, while making it very clear that Ideas and Behavior incompatible with Western Humanism [i.e., “conservatism”] will immediately result in expulsion.
