Media Integrity?

Glenn Beck recently posted a video of MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough vilifying Twitter and Facebook, approximately a year and a half after the fact, for their refusal to allow any discussion of the breaking Hunter Biden scandal on their platforms as the 2020 election approached. “Horrific” was one of the many harsh words he used in condemning what he saw as their abject failure to serve as honest, open vehicles to the truth.

With some delight, I would think, Beck included another video of the very same Scarborough addressing his viewers shortly after the N. Y. Post released its report in Oct. 2020, telling them with great moral outrage that the story of Hunter’s apparently incriminating laptop was obviously a lie, obviously just more alt-right disinformation! This was of course based not on any thorough investigation of the facts but on his own gross ideological bias, indeed on his determination to see that papa Joe won the election.

Oddly, Scarborough’s recent rant against Twitter and Facebook did not include an apology for his own equally disgusting behavior. How does one deal with those so utterly convinced of their own rectitude, so consumed by ideology, that they have not only lost contact with the truth but with who they are as human beings? If self-awareness is essential to moral integrity, where does that leave Joe Scarborough and indeed the Left in general, most of whom are still in denial about the widespread corruption of the Biden family?
