A psychopath anywhere in the West engages in violence against innocent Muslims and the mainstream media explodes with denunciations of all criticisms of Islam, no matter how rational, as Hate Speech.
Unprovoked attacks on innocent Orientals are greeted with the same “logic,” Trump’s perfectly justifiable reference to the Chinese origins of Covid 19 being deemed directly responsible for such attacks.
But this unconscionable equation of Rational, Critical Thought to tirades clearly rooted in Hatred, threatens the very basis of the implied Democratic Dialectic, progression towards a more Civilized future through the free exchange of Ideas.
In Dec. of 1980 Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon. Subsequent interrogation revealed that he had at least in part been motivated by his reading of Salinger’s “Catcher in the Rye.” Given the “logic” of the Left, it is a book that needs to be banned, Holden Caulfield’s innocence clearly entailing a threat to the lives of all those otherwise inclined.
If it is not already self-evident, the “compassionate” Left consistently sacrifices the most evolved among us out of concern for those least so. Not surprisingly, then, it seems perfectly willing to quash the free speech rights of 99.99% of us because of the lunatic reaction of the other .001%. Truly a recipe for “progress!”
