On Sat., Aug. 7, controversial Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski arranged an outdoor Christian service in Portland, Oregon. It was attended by only fifty or so, among them some children. But Antifa showed up, launching rotten eggs, rocks, pepper spray and paint balls in the direction of the celebrants. Apparently apprised of Antifa’s intentions, a few of the Proud Boys also showed up and proceeded to scuffle with their Left-wing rivals. Portland mom Jamee Anatello, a woman of Color, can be seen in a video excoriating her black clad Antifa assailants, claiming they had come close to seriously injuring her eight month old daughter. Ironically, given the relentlessly biased media denunciation of the Proud Boys as but a latter day version of the KKK, she, a Black woman, thanks them for their protection. At the same time Portland’s police, who were present as the events unfolded, simply remained in their cars, doing nothing to defend a group of non-violent Christians from the criminal assaults of a sect repeatedly given special dispensations because their agenda is consistent with the ideology of the contemporary Left.
Politics is downstream from Culture. Aside from those who are genuinely “conservative,” most in the public arena have come to accept the simplistic, sentimental, Neo-Marxist narrative of Oppression which now dominates Western culture. It is with an actual sense of moral superiority that they instruct those in charge of the Rule of Law to back away when dealing with the crimes of Antifa, B.L.M, environmental radicals or, here in Canada, advocates for Indigenous “rights.” These groups and individuals are fully justified, the thinking goes, in violating the rights and property of others.
I don’t believe I have used the F word at all in my almost 200 blogs. But how fucking stupid are the sanctimonious defenders of “political correctness” not to have realized that their so-called “tolerance” of the misdeeds of those they favor is, to anyone with a shred of common sense, a recipe for cultural disaster, indeed a recipe for civil war? If you allow those on one side of the political spectrum to abuse the Law with impunity, you automatically invite not only that radical element on the opposing side with predilections to violence to do the same, but even those of a rational, moderate disposition, convinced that operating within the Rule of Law is no longer an effective option. Given their certainty that the Portland police would do nothing to protect a defenseless group of Christians, the Proud Boys showed up in their stead. As Ms. Anatello pointed out in a subsequent Portland press conference, most media accounts cited a tussle between “anti-fascists” and the “far right” Proud Boys, “far-right,” as is always the case today, implying those of a racist, Neo-Nazi, White Supremacist mentality. At the same time, of course, these purveyors of the “news” failed to mention the irony of the fact that Antifa’s thugs are Fascists to their very core, violence being the only language they speak.
Perhaps nothing better illustrates the poisonous impact of the mainstream media than its relentlessly biased portrayal of the Proud Boys, the “White racists” whom Jamee Anatello insists saved her and her daughter from harm.
The history and intent of the group is far too complex to summarize in a blog. But did you know that for much of the recent past the leader of this supposedly White Supremacist sect has been one Enrique Tarrio, a man of Hispanic/Black ethnicity? Did you know that somewhere between 10 and 20% of the Proud Boys are members of racial minorities? Did you know that Black academic Wilfred Reilly, author of “Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Hate War,” insists, as is their claim, that the Proud Boys are not White Supremacists but rather Western chauvinists? It is a distinction emphasized throughout these blogs, pride in the Principles and Values of Western Civilization being quite distinct from a simplistic urge to judge all others on the basis of their ethnicity. [Reilly, by the way, exposes the fraudulence of over 100 highly publicized “hate crimes” against Blacks that never actually happened!] Yes, one can acknowledge the facts of history while maintaining respect for the Individuality of every person on the planet. And one can defend Masculinity, as did Gavin McInnes, one of the Proud Boys’ founders, against the absurd Feminist charge that Man’s natural attraction to Women is inherently “toxic,” without in any way promoting disrespect for Women.
As must be self-evident, the Proud Boys stand on the wrong side of every issue sacred to the contemporary Left. They cherish Western Civilization, Christianity and the facts of biological Manhood. “Proud” that they frequently show up to defend the innocent against the violence of Antifa and B.L.M., they at times breach the rule of law and are guilty of the crimes ascribed to them. But what more graphically illustrates the Leftist bigotry of our contemporary culture, from the whorehouses of academia to the enclaves of jurisprudence, than the recent conviction of Enrique Tarrio to 90 days in prison for burning a B.L.M. flag in Aug. of 2020? Yes, he was given additional time for his involvement in the riot of Jan. 6. But how does one not lose faith in a legal system that would send a “conservative” away for 3 months for burning the flag of a group openly committed to a communist agenda, while looking the other way as billions of dollars of property damage are perpetrated by violent mobs of uninformed fools intoxicated by the very license granted them by our demented culture?
The Mainstream News as a source of unbiased information is now a pathetic joke. The Principle that the Law is equally applicable to all citizens, whatever their Race or political beliefs, is now a pathetic joke. The legal concept of Innocent ’til proven Guilty, as it pertains to Men accused of crimes against Women decades ago, is now a pathetic joke. Respect for the rational construct of the Nation State as defined by its Borders, is now a pathetic joke. The integrity of the Democratic Electoral Process, as assured by a simple demand for a valid piece of I.D. from every individual claiming to be a legal citizen, is now, in the States at least, a mere pathetic joke. All these jokes, courtesy of the political Left, the saddest joke in the Western World today!
Given that the “conservative” Principles and Values invoked above are a mere matter of common sense, given that most on the sentimental Left are utterly devoid of such, they have no other option than to denounce all who oppose them with volleys of insults, wisely replacing a rational exchange of Ideas which will always leave them on the losing side, with ignorant tirades of abuse. It is this dynamic and not some looming threat from the “alt-right” that is the chief threat to our Western Democracies, the so-called “silent majority,” people of simple common sense, relentlessly mocked as racists, misogynists, etc., because they do not share the delusions of “intellectuals” who see a quasi-tyrannical government intent on “social engineering” as the key to human freedom and fulfillment.
