If calling out friends, family and acquaintances for their failure to impose Reason on the vagaries of Emotion is to cost me their respect or friendship, then so be it. For as long as I can remember, my allegiance has always been to the Truth rather then to trying to please others. If this sounds pretentious, again, so be it.
Joe Biden is the personification of the sheer stupidity underlying the political Left. When I make this assertion I am of course reminded of the fact that Trump was an absolute [fill in the blank]. But let us make Reason rather than Hatred the arbiter of our opinions!
In response to the N.Y. Times’ “1619 Project,” now taught in 3500 American schools, which suggests that the country’s founding fathers were basically motivated by a desire to preserve Slavery, Trump mandated the “1776 Commission” re-asserting the Enlightenment Principles underlying the Constitution. Only a simpleton would suggest the history of any people to be devoid of the criminal inclinations evident throughout the entire species. But that Principles and Values were at work in shaping America’s history is borne out by the inarguable facts of history itself. As a Canadian I am certainly not amused by the tendency of some American Chauvinists to declare theirs to be the only truly free nation on the face of the earth. But Biden’s recent assertion, and these are his words not mine, that the “1776 Commission” is based on “ignorance and lies” represents a level of denial bordering on insanity.
If “insanity” can be defined as a refusal or inability to accept the Givens of Objective Reality, then most on the Left are literally insane. My last blog which attempted to put the events of Jan. 6 in some sort of reasonable context was, I know, unbearably long. What follows is a series of very brief entries illustrating the consistent denial of Reality of the so-called “woke” political Left, that faction of “useful idiots” which Stalin saw as so essential to the demoralization and ultimate destruction of the Democratic Capitalist West.
