Just to clarify: To be “woke” is to be both intellectually and morally immature. “Wokeness,” both in those who shape public policy and those affected by it, puts the needs of the Egotistical Self ahead of the demands and actualities of the Real World. It ends inevitably in that sense of Victimization so prevalent among the juvenile icons of Nineteenth Century Romanticism, those whose lives, as I have described elsewhere, were extravaganzas of psychological dysfunction, those whose orientation was clearly evident among the mindless, drug-addled masses at Woodstock.
No true “conservative” wants anything but fairness for every member of society, but the concept of fairness [i.e., “equity” of results] proffered by the Left represents a gross distortion of what it means to be human, a distortion that inevitably entails the abrogation of the fundamental personal Freedoms so envied by much of the rest of the world. Far from a Virtue, “Wokeness” is the Cancer that is threatening to destroy contemporary Western Civilization.
