California woman Jessica Konen is suing the Board of Ed. of her daughter’s Buena Vista Middle School for allowing two teachers there, with the knowledge of their principal, to convince her twelve year old over several months that she was actually transgender and bisexual. Enticing [forcing?] her to join their LGBTQ “Equality Club,” advising her to bind her breasts to stifle their growth and supplying her with a new set of “pronouns,” they specifically asked her not to inform her mother as she could not be “trusted.” This violation of her rights as a Mother would seem to have been the issue that led Ms. Konen to take legal action.
Appearing on Fox News with her lawyer Harmeet Dhillon of the “Center for American Liberty,” Konen appeared perfectly willing to allow her daughter to define herself sexually. What appalled her was the assumption of these “social justice” fanatics that they had the right to “engineer” the behavior of the rest of the species. What appalled her was their assumption that biological parents no longer had dominion over their own children. Dhillon suggested this assault on the integrity of the Family was common throughout America’s academic circles.
Forced to stay home for a time due to a surge in Omicron infections, Konen’s daughter expressed her delight at being free of the pressures to which she had been submitted by her teachers and, when her school opened up again, was utterly uninterested in returning.
As if to illustrate Dhillon’s statement that such scenarios are hardly rare in America’s schools, the Fox online entry highlighting Konen’s interview cited a Pennsylvania School Board member, Richard Robinson, who, in response to parental criticism in his particular district, declared “No, I don’t work for you!” Absurdly, that would seem to be the opinion of most “progressives” in positions of power, those convinced they are there not to serve the people but to tell them what to do, those who see public disapproval of their policies not as an integral part of the Democratic process, but as hateful expressions of an ugly populism.
As I’ve said a half dozen times already, that these people sanctimoniously hail themselves as “liberals,” blows my mind.
