The inference is that we’re all really the same. This is an idiotic misconception exposed almost daily in the Real World!
As reported by Pamela Geller on June 13, a Federal Grand Jury recently indicted 8 University of Michigan anti-Israeli activists for their behavior over the last two and a half years. Affiliated with an international group called “Students for Justice in Palestine” which was founded in 1993, the 8 individuals in question, outraged by the empathy for Israel incited by the Hamas attack of Oct. 7, 2023, had engaged in terrorist threats against the officials of their university, law enforcement officers and the local Jewish community in general. Indeed they had tossed noxious chemicals through the windows of Jewish residents and pinned threatening notes on their front doors. Highlighting the lunacy of their outrage is the fact that 1,195 innocent Israelis lost their lives in the unprovoked Oct. 7 attack! Yet “Students for Justice in Palestine,” which is also active here in Canada, declared the assault a “historic win for the Palestinian resistance.”
Yes, some of Netanyahu’s actions are of questionable merit. And yes, innocent Palestinians are dying in this ongoing conflict. But the inarguable Truth is that it is the genocidal fanaticism of groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, which are intent eliminating the Jewish State altogether, that is the source of this tragedy. I point this out simply to illustrate the absurdity of our contemporary Western Culture, a superficial Leftist construct which foolishly prioritizes Feelings over the dictates of Common Sense and Morality. It is because of this that “Students for Justice in Palestine” has not been vanquished from the North America academic scene, even though it applauded the 2023 slaughter of over 1000 Israelis!
Coincidentally, just today, June 23, Canada’s Epoch Times published a piece citing the resignation of lawyer Mark Berlin from his position with Winnipeg’s “Canadian Museum for Human Rights” on the grounds that its upcoming exhibit, sympathetic to the plight of the Palestinians, told only half of the facts relevant to the contemporary situation. To Berlin, who is Jewish, it seems absurd that an institution devoted to Human Rights should sew division among Canadian citizens and actually incite Anti-Semitism.
Naturally, one might assume those in charge of Human Rights initiatives to be educated individuals perfectly able to distinguish fact from fiction. But a significant % of Western “intellectuals” have clearly succumbed to the neo-Marxist dementia of the Left. Hence their “compassionate” tolerance of a racist group such as “Students for Justice in Palestine,” and the willingness of Canadian “human rights” activists to cite only half of the Historical Truth in their effort to blame the Jews rather than their very own leaders for the devastation to which Palestinians are presently being subjected!
