The bureaucracy in charge of healthcare in the Canadian province of Newfoundland apparently e-mailed parents throughout its jurisdiction on June 19 that access to their kid’s medical records would henceforth be subject to certain restrictions, children over the age of 12 being granted the right to simply cancel parental supervision of their life choices. It was a ruling no doubt born of empathy for initiatives such as the Trans agenda, with which most parents would no doubt have serious reservations. It was an edict based upon the arrogant premise that the opinions of certain “experts” supersede the rights of Mothers and Fathers to raise their children!
As reported by Juno News on June 27, parents throughout the province were outraged that their right to raise their children was being violated. In response to their outrage, Conservative Premier Tony Wakeham said: “We did not create this policy, but we are going to fix it.” Indeed he added: “I want to be categorical: Parents are the primary protectors of their children.” As a result of this belief, the ruling has now been cancelled.
While this blog may seem to be much ado about nothing, I raise this issue simply because the arrogance of a government agency which feels it has the right to intercede in the family dynamic, is an arrogance which has come to pervade our governance here in the “progressive” West. Yes, assaults on our personal freedoms are almost invariably launched from the Left. Today’s “liberals” are actually Elitists who don’t believe in Liberty! This is a Fact and not the rant of some right-wing fanatic!
Leftist disdain for Capitalism entails disdain for Free Enterprise. DEI initiatives ignore human merit and achievement based on the arbitrary criteria of Identity. You’re White, so you don’t get the job! If you disagree, of course, you are clearly engaging in Hate Speech, an oppressive tactic constantly employed by the Left. Indeed if you defend the Family Unit, you are just another White Supremacist defending a White, Western Social Construct. My point is that the Contemporary Left is anti-Democratic to its very core, always knowing what is best for us in its elitist arrogance. Yet it it somehow manages to sustain the delusion of its “liberalism,” even as it challenges such basic freedoms as the right of parents to raise their children!
