Tom Fitton has led Judicial Watch since 1998. It is an agency primarily devoted to maintaining the integrity of America’s Voting Lists. Fitton is a conservative convinced that many Blue States have become decidedly lax in maintaining the integrity of those lists on the assumption that illegal aliens, over 10 million of whom were allowed to enter the U.S. during Biden’s presidency, will almost unanimously vote Democrat! On Sept. 25, the Supreme Court enhanced the ability of the Department of Homeland Security to investigate voting lists throughout the country. The motion was passed by a majority of 6 to 3. The 3 who voted against it were Democrats! But why would those on the self-righteous Left not be committed to maintaining the integrity of America’s elections?
Too numerous to cite here, Judicial Watch frequently posts evidence of its successes in cleansing the voter rolls of various States. On Aug. 3, it announced that its enquiry had led to the elimination 6,531 non-citizens from the rolls of Virginia. On Sept. 12, it claimed its legal initiatives had forced Colorado to submit 372,000 suspicious names to scrutiny, while doing the very same in Oregon where that number was approximately 800,000! Overall, according to Tom Fitton, his agency has prevented approximately 6 million ineligible voters from casting ballots in the country’s elections over the last few years.
Non citizens are not allowed to take part in America’s federal elections. States and cities, however, can grant them the right to vote in their various non-federal plebiscites. On Oct. 17, Judicial Watch revealed it had discovered that 578 non-citizens had been granted that right in Washington D.C.. Muriel Bowser, the longtime mayor of D.C., is a Democrat. Not surprisingly, 510 of the 578 were discovered to be registered Democrats. Fitton’s implied criticism, of course, is that if those 510 had been registered Republicans, D.C.’s ruling elite would clearly not have allowed them to take part in any election!
The “progressive” state of California sends mail-in ballots to all registered voters. Inasmuch as this absolves the latter of the need to show up at the polls and validate their identity, mail-in balloting is eminently open to abuse. California’s Democrats will argue this fact but their arguments are utterly inane. As reported by The Blaze on Oct. 21, the Department of Justice had issued a restraining order on the 19th, demanding state authorities scrutinize approximately 20,000 registered voters deemed to be non-citizens. Given that the midterm elections are to be held on Nov. 3, California argued it could not possibly complete such a task in two weeks. But it had received a similar injunction from the Department of Homeland Security several days earlier which it also rejected. Gee, is it possible California’s Democrats are more concerned with retaining power than defending the integrity of their Democracy? Is it possible Barack Obama’s recent claim that Trump is abusing the nation’s various institutions for political reasons, is simply hypocritical?
Given their personalities, it is far easier to admire Barack Obama than Donald Trump. But the multiple enquiries pursued by Judicial Watch suggest the contemporary Left to be guilty of the very sort of biased tactics which it habitually attributes to Trump. While both sides are guilty of abusing their powers, perhaps it is the Values and Ideas to which they subscribe that ought to determine our loyalties. We live in a complicated world rife with imperfection, but it seems to me that the Rational Prescriptions of contemporary Conservatism utterly supersede the sentimental nonsense spewed by the mindless Left. This does not mean I love Trump. But it also means I find Biden perhaps the most ludicrous president in all of history!
