In citing Pam Bondi’s achievements as Attorney General, even as he dismissed her, Donald Trump was nothing but complimentary. On Truth Social he pointed out that the annual murder rate in the U.S. had plummeted to its lowest level since the year 1900 under her jurisdiction. In responding to Trump’s statement, she reiterated the startling fact that in 2025 the murder rate had indeed been the lowest in 125 years and moreover that approximately 90 members of various criminal cartels had been arrested while terrorism convictions against members of Antifa had been successfully concluded for the very first time on American soil. The N.Y. Post supported their narrative, saying that the 20% decline in murders in 2025 had “likely” been the largest single year drop ever.
Of course The Post is inclined to the Right, and Trump and Bondi are naturally going to celebrate their achievements. But an investigation of their claims proves that they are in fact correct. Not surprisingly, no doubt in an attempt to deny the Trump administration credit for this development, many articles also point out the recent decline of the murder rate in cities like Toronto and regions such as Central America. But if multiple lives were saved in the U.S. due to the renewed emphasis on Law and Order of the Republican government and yes, its use of ICE to rid its cities of foreign criminals, ought not the mainstream press to be celebrating its efforts? Our lives are our most precious possession and the death of innocent citizens at the hands of heartless killers is a tragedy that ought to outrage the “compassionate” Left. But Trump Hatred apparently conquers compassion and, not surprisingly, my “progressive” friends who get their news from CNN, MSNBC, the CBC, etc., knew nothing of this radical decline in the murder rate south of the border. Such is the bias of the contemporary, Leftist, mainstream media!
