As reported by the Townhall website on Nov. 9, it has been ascertained that an official with FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, instructed relief workers seeking to help Florida residents devastated by hurricane Milton, to simply bypass homes showing any signs of support for Donald Trump. In the small town of Lake Placid, apparently, approximately 20 homes were so dispatched. Multiple FEMA employees have testified to this fact. Washington’s FEMA supervisor having investigated the situation, the official in question, Marn’i Washington, has been fired.
Is not the refusal to help people in distress because their political views do not align with yours, an act of sheer hatred? Ought not government agencies such as FEMA to be immune to political biases? Was not the DOJ under Biden used with bias to prosecute Trump while ignoring the suspicious business dealings of Joe and his son Hunter? Were Trump to have brazenly sold his political influence through one of his offspring, I promise you he’d be in jail today.
A Democracy is in peril when institutions such as the Department of Justice and FEMA cease to be Objective. I will be appalled should Trump attempt to weaponize the DOJ against his political enemies. As it is, however, the dominant bias that has metastasized throughout most Western nations today is being fomented by those on the Left who in many cases are little more than religious fundamentalists convinced that anyone who disagrees with them is simply loathsome. Hence the firing, cancelling or public humiliation of those who dare question the doctrines of Political Correctness. Hence the suggestion that if you didn’t vote for Kamala, it’s because you’re a misogynist. Hence the decision of a FEMA official to deprive hurricane victims of much needed help because they support Donald Trump!
Democracies are equipped with checks and balances designed to stifle the abuse of political power. Trump has of course been accused of being such a threat. If it should prove to be true, hopefully the “system” well keep him in check. But over the last 4 years, it has no doubt been Biden’s Democrats and their media minions who have in fact relentlessly abused their powers with no respect whatsoever for those of dissenting views. Could this perhaps have something to do with the anger perpetually evident in The Donald’s demeanor?
