In interviewing Washington D.C.’s mayor Muriel Bowser, a woman of Colour, MSNBC suggested Trump’s summoning of the National Guard to defend the city was perhaps racially motivated inasmuch as its police force and population were dominated by Blacks. Mayor Bowser did not take the bait, saying she fully supported any attempt to improve the Rule of Law in her domain.
Thus far this year there have been 99 murders in D.C. as opposed to 112 in the same period last year. While this has led some Democrats to vilify Trump by insisting crime is actually down in D.C., it is a number which is in fact appalling to anyone who genuinely cares about human life. Ninety nine murders in seven and a half months equates to approximately thirteen murders a month! In D.C., apparently, simply venturing from one’s home entails the risk that one might be the victim of some random killing. The absurdity of the contemporary Left is nowhere more evident than in MSNBC’s insinuation that Trump’s effort to restore the Rule of Law in D.C. is actually an indictment of Black degeneracy rather than an honest attempt to save Black lives!
