A Dec. 2024 report stating that only 24 FBI agents had been present among the hordes that assailed the Capitol Building in 2021, was validated by then Director of the FBI Christopher Wray. But it has recently come to light that 274 agents had taken part in the proceedings. Donald Trump has of course said he was the victim of a conspiracy designed to suggest he was intent on overthrowing the U.S. government. His self-exonerating claim that he implored Nancy Pelosi to seek assistance from the National Guard in defending the Capitol that day has been denied. But while he is no doubt guilty of sometimes twisting the truth to suit his purposes, those who hate him clearly cannot be trusted at all! Why the more than 4 years of lying about the FBI’s role in the events of Jan 6? What was Christopher Wray trying to hide in asserting only a couple of dozen of his agents had entered the Capitol that day?
In his 2023 book “Government Gangsters,” Kash Patel said there were definitely “strange agitators” among the “insurrectionists” who were being ignored by the FBI, adding that “All the signs of a cover-up are on full display.” Indeed he said in a Fox interview: “This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and the American people about what really happened.” Bizarrely, Patel, who is now the head of the FBI, has totally changed his viewpoint, saying on CNN the other day that the 274 agents were merely trying to maintain order among the crowds and that all other insinuations were mere “conspiracy theories.”
On his Rumble podcast today, Dinesh D’Souza pointed out that the Democrat dominated committee assigned to assess the events of Jan. 6 had predictably fallen in line with all of Christopher Wray’s lies. Why, he asked, were 274 agents unable to stop the 1000 or so who actually entered the Capitol? Had they openly identified themselves as agents rather than remaining incognito, might they not have been dramatically more successful in their supposed quest? Indeed why were some doors left open with officials actually escorting the insurgents in? While Trump may or may not have advised Pelosi to call in the National Guard, she has openly taken responsibility for the day’s security failures and admitted that she should in fact have called in the National Guard. Could it be that the Democrats were actually delighted with the opportunity to denounce Trump as an enemy of Democracy who ought never be allowed to run for office again? Is this just some demented, far-right conspiracy theory, or is it perfectly understandable given that an institution supposedly designed to protect the American people, had in fact lied to them for more than 4 years about their involvement in one of the most controversial days in the country’s history.
While Trump is hardly perfect, is he not justified in using the term “swamp” to describe various aspects of the U.S. government which, while designed to serve all the American people, have become utterly infected with the simple-minded ideology of the self-righteous Left?
