On Oct.2 Melanie Bennett was featured on Canada’s conservative website Juno News, discussing the plight of the country’s many “de-transitioners,” individuals who had been subjected to surgical and/or hormonal gender altering procedures as 12 and 13 year olds, only to discover later that they were actually of the Gender biologically assigned them at birth! Bennett’s critique was directed not at the right of mature adults to determine their own sexual identity, but rather at the insistence of many in that community on invading our elementary and secondary schools with the highly debatable notion that the Binary Gender Norm is but a Western Social Construct, indeed that the genitalia with which one is born do not define one’s gender! Telling teenage girls plagued by the insecurities of many kids of that age that having their breasts removed while being treated with testosterone might solve all their problems, is, according to Bennett, grossly simplistic if not criminally irresponsible. The evidence, she says, is apparent in the growing number of “de-transitioners” who have decided that they were enticed into making a horrible mistake.
Transgenders comprise an extremely small percentage of the species. Yet as the contemporary Left subscribes to the ludicrous notion that Minorities are always right, its mainstream adherents seem to be ignoring the growing number of “de-transitioners” claiming that Trans Ideologues have more or less ruined their lives. Melanie Bennett’s goal is clearly to defend those who are the real victims in this contemporary farce. She is motivated not by Hatred of Transgenders, but by her Compassion for their Victims as well as concern for the Right of Parents to raise their children free of external interference. Indeed she says in her Juno interview that a growing number of physicians and lawyers are presently intent on highlighting the harm being done by a demographic clearly more intent on legitimizing its own mode of being, rather than actually being concerned with the welfare of others!
