The Leftist notion that the events of Jan. 6, 2021 represented a genuine attempt to overthrow the American government relied significantly upon the presence of an individual who brought pipe bombs to the Capital that day. As I have pointed out in previous blogs, 99.9% of the so-called Insurrectionists bore no arms whatsoever. Not surprisingly, it has now come to light that the “pipe bomber” was a Capital Police officer named Shauni Rae Kerkhoff whose presence was clearly designed to suggest the violent intentions of Trump’s supporters. While her face is not evident in the video of her antics, computerized analysis of her gait has produced 94 to 98% certainty of her identity! Former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin has said he is convinced the FBI was in fact militarized by the Biden government in an utterly corrupt way.
In early October, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley [R.- Iowa] revealed that the FBI under Biden had been used to invade the private cellphones of 9 Republican lawmakers in an effort to prove their party’s alleged interference in the 2020 election. This weaponizing of the FBI for political reasons was, he said, a crime “Worse than Watergate.” Really, was Nixon’s attempt to spy on the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters in the Watergate complex, for which he was removed as President, any worse than this brazen abuse of the FBI by Biden? Kash Patel, Trump’s designated head of the Bureau, said recently: “The abuse of power ends now. Under my leadership, the FBI will deliver truth and accountability, and never again be weaponized against the American people.” Ones can only hope this is true.
In 2023 Biden’s judiciary sentenced “insurrectionist” Richard Barnett to 4.5 years in prison for entering Nancy Pelosi’s office and putting his feet up on her desk. Expressing his disdain for her politics, a disdain which I share, he was guilty of no significant act of violence whatsoever. Upon taking office in 2025, Trump had him released from prison. While I find his pardons of various Jan. 6 individuals perfectly justifiable, I am fully aware of his flamboyant capacity to violate government protocols on behalf of his own sometimes irrational impulses. Hopefully Kash Patel will be able to maintain the integrity of the FBI as an unbiased agent of Law and Order. At the same time, should Trump succumb to his own political biases, I would hope the mainstream media, rather than condemning him as an authoritarian monster, would be honest enough to assess his actions as a response to the authoritarian abuses of his Democratic predecessor.
I am in no way defending Trump’s sometimes irrational tactics, but simply pointing out the need for honest, unbiased reporting as an essential factor in the maintenance of a truly healthy Democracy!
