On Wednesday, two West Virginia National Guards were shot in Washington D.C. by an Afghan national who entered the U.S. in 2021 under Biden’s slack border policies. While the 24 year old male victim is still fighting for his life, his 20 year old female cohort, Sarah Beckstrom, has already passed away as a result of her wounds. Her family is of course devastated and expressions of sympathy from around the U.S. have been abundant.
Yet the Left leaning New Yorker magazine chose to publish an article by Jane Mayer which basically blamed Sarah Beckstrom’s death on Donald Trump. Of course she expressed sadness over her passing but she also suggested the National Guard had no reason to be in D.C., indeed that Beckman and company had “virtually nothing to do but pick up trash.” This is a brazen lie as validated by D.C.’s sharp decrease in criminal acts of every kind. No doubt human lives have been saved, break ins and car thefts reduced, etc., etc.. So while expressing mere token sympathy for the death of an innocent young woman, Mayer’s article is primarily designed to justify her politics! The same thing was of course done by many on the Left in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s murder. Token expressions of sadness over his death followed by lengthy dissertations suggesting he really had it coming! It is why this Blog is called The Politics of Hate. So pathologically self-righteous is the Political Left that it is willing to trivialize the ultimate human abomination, the murder of another Human Being, on behalf of its agenda!
