As I have mentioned in various earlier blogs, the Slaves that ended up in the Americas hundreds of years ago did so not because they were violently abducted by White Westerners, but because they were sold into servitude by Black Africans. This inarguable Fact utterly explodes the Left’s ignorant generalizations about White Supremacy as the vilest cancer in all of human history. On Feb. 4, the Daily Wire published the first in a series of posts by Matt Walsh in which he fully exposes the lies that have come to dominate our “progressive” Western Culture. It is entitled “The Real History of Slavery.”
From the 17th to the 19th Centuries, approximately 1.9 million Slaves were dispatched to the rest of the world from West Africa. While this is hardly the place to fully explore Walsh’s extensive narrative, I should like to cite his history of Dahomey, the first kingdom to which he alludes. In existence from 1600 to 1904, this militaristic state prospered by conquering its various neighbors and selling their people into Slavery! King Gezo [1787-1858] boasted that Slavery was the key to his people’s “glory and health.” One element of his agenda was an army of Amazons [i.e., Females!] who were apparently as vicious as any Male army ever assembled. Outrageously, when those captured could not be sold for profit, they were tortured in prolonged, public exhibitions which of course ultimately led to their deaths. Truly Barbaric!
Having discussed the West African Slave Trade, Walsh points out that the numbers dispatched from East Africa dwarfed those sold into slavery from the West. But while we are talking millions sold world-wide in total, only 3% of them ended up in the States! Yet a U. of Wisconsin professor cited by Matt Walsh says a significant number of America’s young seem to have been taught that early America was not only the most racist country on the planet, but a prime proponent of Slavery itself. These are utter lies. The millions of Blacks sold into servitude were willingly sold by their very own People!!!
If these facts don’t expose the absurdity of the Left’s notion that White Supremacism is the greatest scourge to have ever afflicted the species, how about the fact that it was Great Britain, in the early 19th Century, and the U.S. in its Civil War 50 years later, that were the first to ban Slavery from their domains. They were Progressive in the true meaning of the word. That I might be accused of being a White Supremacist as a result of this claim, is a sad reflection of what is ironically called “progressivism” today!
