Having not had my lobotomy yet, I continue to watch videos posted by “conservative” sites such as The Rebel here in Canada. Today Ezra Levant tipped his hat to the N.Y. Times which has been surprisingly honest in assessing recent events in Ottawa and our P.M.’s response to them.
A Times editorial asserted that “allowing nonviolent protest is important in a polarized society,” clearly an indictment of Trudeau’s fascist suppression of the freedom convoy. Highlighting his hypocrisy, it pointed out that he had sanctimoniously supported as perfectly justifiable roadblocks created by India’s farmers which disrupted that country’s economy for over a year.
The main focus of The Rebel video, however, was the reaction of mainstream Canadian “journalists” to a N.Y. Times article deploring the fact that Trudeau’s henchmen had unnecessarily drawn their guns on unarmed truckers who had shown no tendency to violence whatsoever. Ezra presents video evidence that such assaults had occurred, showing cops, guns drawn, surrounding various vehicles apparently harboring trucker “insurrectionists.” Yet behold the outrage of the utterly dishonest Canadian media!
CBC’s Piya Chattopadhyay was incensed by the Times article, asking: “OMG N.Y.T.: Is this how you do reporting on foreign stories? Where are you getting this B.S. from?”
In the equally biased Globe and Mail, John Ibbitson wrote: “On what basis do they assert that people were arrested at gunpoint? Armed police is not “at gunpoint.” Unless weapons were drawn and pointed at protesters then this is both factually incorrect and dangerous to assert.”
No Ibbitson, you are the one who is “factually incorrect.” The Rebel’s video proved unequivocally that the N.Y. Times article was accurate. Day after day here in socialist Canada we are fed lies by a media utterly consumed by ideological bias and yet, sadly, believed by the majority of an equally indoctrinated public.
