On April 23, Jimmy Kimmel did an extensive bit on Donald Trump in which he repeatedly sought to derive humor by referring to Melania as a soon-to-be Widow. Two days later saw the third recent attempt on Trump’s life at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. While Kimmel did not overtly promote the assassination of the President, a Dec. 2025 report by the N.Y. Post highlighted the truly biased nature of America’s Culture in pointing out that 92% of the political jokes made on late night T.V. that year had targeted conservatives. Kimmel himself had apparently made 1,668 jokes at Trump’s expense, many of them implying he is a Hitler-like monster and a threat to Democracy itself. Such rhetoric, it seems, quite naturally incites simpletons such as Cole Allen to vent their rage.
In the aftermath of this third attempt on the President’s life, Karoline Leavitt expressed her disgust with the rhetoric of the American Left, citing both the Mainstream Media and Democratic Politicians for their relentless tendency to spew venomous insults at their conservative opponents rather than refuting their policies with Reason and Common Sense. She names several Democrats guilty of such comments including Adam Schiff, Ayanna Pressley, Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker, and others.
Commenting on the same issue, Greg Gutfeld of Fox News insisted the various posts of last Saturday’s would-be assassin reeked of the rhetoric relentlessly spewed by CNN, the ladies of The View, M.S. Now, etc. Are these platforms and individuals not entitled to disagree with Trump and conservatives in general? Of course they are! But, for example, in denouncing as Racists those who support ICE and believe in maintaining the integrity of America’s Borders, is not the contemporary Left guilty of avoiding the negative repercussions of its world-view because it is in fact fundamentally divorced from Reality? Does not the Left engage in Hate Speech because it has no other option?
I am certainly not suggesting Donald Trump is beyond criticism. But outraged Democrats who feel he is using the judiciary to target his enemies must in all honesty admit that the same was repeatedly done to him during the Biden administration. This hardly exonerates Trump, but it makes his tactics somewhat understandable. In a healthy Democracy the Judiciary clearly needs to remain neutral as in fact does the Media! Yes, Fox News is decidedly conservative in its perspective but it has become so because pretty much every other major news outlet, while pretending to be neutral, is hypocritically devoted to the Left.
In a Salem News posting of April 29, libertarian conservative Mark Davis argued that a healthy Democracy ought not to allow government censorship of any Speech unless it is unequivocally criminal in intent. His defense of Free Speech is rooted in the Enlightenment belief that as Man is a Rational Being, he will ultimately come to distinguish fact from fiction, truth from inanity. This belief, of course, is rooted in the assumption that the information given to the general public is true rather than ideologically biased. Hence the hatred that presently separates the Left from the Right, a hatred aggressively cultivated by a media that considers itself “progressive” while being biased to its very core. At the heart of its convictions is the arrogant assumption that people in general are stupid and need to be guided by their superiors, an assumption antithetical to the very notion of a Liberal Democracy. Yes, the sanctimonious Left, while pretending to be “liberal,” is in fact fascist to its very core!
